The Catalan autonomous government is striving
for a Catalan NOC, independent of the Spanish
NOC. This may be the reason why, at the Pyrenean stage of the Tour
the France on 10 July 2000, a spectator could be seen waving an
Olympic flag lengthened ca. 1/4 of its
length with the Catalan yellow and red
stripes.
