It is a white-blue-white vertical triband. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top with an addditional black inscription "Leuchtenberg" above the shield.

Shield quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Gules an oak twig Or with two leaves and one acorn, 2nd and 3rd quarter Or a hops wreath Vert with two leaves and one umbel, over all on heart point an inescutcheon Argent charged with a fess Azure.
Meaning:
The pattern is known since 1575, when it was displayed on the 2nd town seal. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Margraves of Leuchtenberg. Near the town had been their ancestral seat. The family accumulated territories in the Upper Palatinate since the 12th century, gained the title of imperial princes in the 15th century and died out in 1646. The oldest known town seal from the 15th century, known by a print from 1506, only displayed three oak leaves and three trefoils on a quartered shield with the family arms of the margraves. The meaning of the plants is unknown.
