Shield parted per pale,at dexter Or a demi-eagle Sable couped per pale, at sinister Gules a bend Or lanked by two 6-point stars Or.
The demi eagle is symbolising that Kaufbeuren had been a Free Imperial City in the Middle Ages. The pattern was taken from the arms of the Lords of Beuren and had been used by the city's bailiff (Stadtamtmann) from 1230 until 1287.
