Shield parted abased per chevron, above Or an embattled and masoned wall Argent, beneath Sable a scimitar Argent hilted Or in pale.
Meaning:
Mering gained the rights of a market town in 1838. The embattled wall is reminding on the former castle of the Welfen kin. The introduction of the scimitar was caused by an excavation in the village in 1808, where a Hun's sabre was found. It is furthermore alluding to the field camp of King Otto I, before he defeated the Hungarinas on the nearby Lechfeld in 955.
