Description of flag:
The flag has three horizontal stripes white-blue-yellow with the arms shifted slightly to the hoist. The devices on the arms are taken from the arms of the city of Norden - notice that these are spur-wheels, not stars.

Variant flag

[Juist Island Variant flag] 3:5 image by Klaus-Michael Schneider, 21 Sep 2009

Description of flag:
It is a white over celestial blue over yellow horizontal tricolour with the coat of arms in the centre.
The coat of arms is the same as descripted earlier, but the blue shade is also celestial at the base of the shield is a real sharp point.
Source: I spotted this flag a few times at Norddeich ferry terminal and on the ferries to Juist on 14 September 2009.
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 21 Sep 2009

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above are golden (= yellow) dunes topped by two silver (= white) spur wheels (or tierced mullets) in a blue sky. Below the blue field is divided by four silver (= white) barrulets wavy.
Meaning:
Juist is an island, which is symbolized by the dunes and the waves of the North Sea. The spurs are taken from the arms of Norden to symbolize the ties to this city. The arms were based on older, unofficial arms, which just showed the dunes.

The coat of arms was adopted in 1949
