The municipality of Tuparendí (8,557 inhabitants in 2010; 30,767 ha) is located 500 km north-west of Porto Alegre.

The flag of Tuparendí is horizontally divided green-yellow-green, charged in the
center with a white disc featuring the municipal coat of arms and two green
stars.
