Essex is a town located in Middlesex County and had a population of 6,733 as of the 2020 census. Essex contains three primary settlements: Essex Village, Centerbrook, and Ivoryton. The town was incorporated in 1852, unusually late for Connecticut municipalities. Essex is notable for its distinctive gingerbread house-like architecture on some homes.
I spoke with the town of Essex, Connecticut the other day and they confirmed that they actually did have a municipal flag at one point but it was destroyed in bad weather. It was owned by a local church known as Our Lady of Sorrows and by rumor, they are looking to replace it. The person I spoke to over the phone said it may have had something resembling the seal/logo on it but she was not sure.
