The former flag of Maltepe (photo) was white with a vbery similar emblem but no additional writing. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".

Maltepespor (Maltepe Spor Kulübü) was founded in 1923, as Maltepe Gençlerbirliği. Renamed in 1949 as Maltepe Gençlikspor, the club subsequently absorbed two smaller local clubs, Maltepe Güneşspor and Maltepe Ağaspor, and adopted its current name.
The flag of Maltepespor (photo) is horizontally divided green-white-red with the club's emblem in the middle.
