The new logo is just an arrangement of the characters "T" and
"I".

After Brown’s Flags and Funnels, 1995
[lgr95], Transportes Maritimos Insulares
A.a.r.L. (Transinsular), Lisbon — white field, top and bottom blue
stripe; in center the firm’s logo.
Jarig Bakker, 26 Oct 2005

According to Brown’s [lgr95],
the flag is blue with a very broad white horizontal band bearing the
emblem.
Neale Rosanoski, 1 Feb 2005

The old logo included the drawing of the flag above.

This could be (or could have been) the actual
flag of Transinsular, and the above just a
flagoid… or an evolution of
the flag, I don’t know. All I know is that the logo as appeared in the
Carga e Transportes supplement to the Público newspaper included for some
time a drawing of the flag.
Jorge Candeias, 2 Feb 2005

Recently there were a couple of reports about the new flag of Transinsular.
