It is a typical Portuguese communal flag with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Shield Or four roof tiles Gules in fess, in chief on a mandorla flamant Gules a lamb Argent passant nimbed Or and holding a cruciger staff Or
flagged with a labarum Argent charged with a cross Gules, in base a grapevine eradicated Vert and fructed Purple.
Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading
in black upper case serifed letters "GRANJA - TRANCOSO".
Meaning:
The lamb is the Agnus Dei, token of St. John the Baptist, patron saint of the Catholic parish this commune was derived from in the mid 19th century.
The roof tiles and the grape vine likely refer to the local significance of clayworking and viticulture.

Granja is one of the 15 communes of Trancoso Municipality created by the merger during the 2013 changes. It had 109 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 9,26 km².
