Shield Or, an oak twig Vert fruited of the same flanked in chief by two diamonds Gules, issuant from base two mountains Vert, Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "CERCAL DO ALENTEJO".

Cercal do Alentejo Commune is one of the eight communes of the Santiago do Cacém municipality (q.v.); it had 3362 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 136.4 km². Cercal de Alentejo had been seat of a municipality from 1836 to 1855. It was upgraded to a town in 1991.
