The arms are Vert a single towered wall throughout Argent masoned and open and slit Sable and in chief two arrows Or garnished Gules set in saltire and in base two dolphins Or embowed respectant. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "

Meaning:
The arrows stand for the commune's namesake (and patron of the Catholic parish the commune originated from) Saint Sebastian.
Please note: The curious, and possibly illegal, legal prescription for the arrows to be "emphasised Gules" is not followed in some images in official use, e.g. here and here.

São Sebastião Commune is one of the two urban communes that currently make up Setúbal city. São Sebastião Commune is one of the 8 communes of Setúbal Municipality, including the eastern part of the Setúbal city urban area; it had 52 542 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 19.6 km².
