Shield Argent a grapevine eradicated Vert fructed Purple tendriled and leafed Vert, in chief a heraldic rose Gules seeded Or and barbed Ver, in base a watermill wheel Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA MAIOR - S. PEDRO DO SUL"
Meaning:
The rose is an attribute of Our Lady of Purification, the local patron saint.

Vila Maior is one of the ten communes of São Pedro do Sul Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 872 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 14,09 km².
