Shield Vert, a caravel Or rigged Argent sailing on a base wavy of Argent and Vert, its split flag Argent with a quina, in chief a cross patty Gules voided Argent and flanked by two winches Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black capitals "FUNCHAL - SANTA MARIA MAIOR".
