Vila Cova was one of the 44 communes of Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 2026 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 12,5 km².

Shield Azure, a menhir Argent flanked by two furn leaves Or in pale. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard-Guedes style, with inscription in black capitals "FEITOS".
Meaning:
The furns (Port.: fetas) might be punning.
