Wageningen is in west Gelderland. In 1945 Germany capitulated in Hotel 'De Wereld' for the Allies. It now has the Agricultural
University, with research in several fields of knowledge going on. Otherwise it is not very different from other Veluwe municipalities.
Its flag has something canting: Wagen means 'car' and a wheel is symbolizing that. It was adopted 10 Nov. 1954, derived from the
municipal coat of arms. It seems to be quite old, since it was deemed necessary to add a cross in the spokes of the wheel.
