The coat of arms of Vicente Guerrero was adopted on 2 September 2001 under the administration of José Antonio Ochoa Solano, being designed by Gilberto Trancoso Aviña. Originally, a design by Dora Northon Gámiz on 1 April the same year, during the term of Municipal President Manuel Ángel Vargas Echeverría, was to be accepted as the Municipal coat of arms, but this ended up not being accepted. The border of the shield is brown, bearing at the top the motto "TRABAJO Y EDUCACION" [Work and Education]. At the bottom, "VICENTE GUERRERO. DGO." To the right, a bow and to the left an arrow, symbols of the Indians. To the lower left, a corn plant for agriculture wrapped in the national colors and to the right an olive branch for peace. Under this, a lagoon remembering the importance of water. Above the lagoon is an open book for education. The mountain pass remembers the environment, with a burro by it, commonly used for transport. Composing most of the shield is the figure of Vicente Guerrero, who this place is named after. To the upper-left, another shield, bearing at the top hands harvesting, to the left sunset, and to the right historic buildings.
