The coat of arms of San Luis del Cordero was approved and published in the Official Newspaper of the State on 8 June 1997. The shield is headed by a knight to the front of a shield, recognizing the Spanish era, decorated with feathers. Above the shield is a shape reading 1845, when it became a municipality; at the top of the border is its name, and to the sides the motto "UNIDOS EN LA VENTURA, Y EN LA ADVERSIDAD" [United in Fortune aand in Adversity]. As for the inner section, to the left are a wolf and head of cattle, part of the fauna and cattle-raising industry of the municipality. To the right is an agave plant, commonly found here. The center depicts the sun setting over the hills, by an often ephemeral river. At the bottom are two arrows for the Indians of the area. Meanwhile, at the top the colors of Aragon are seen, also remembering the Spanish era. The shield is enveloped at the bottom in a blue ribbon.
