The coat of arms of Nuevo Ideal was designed by Municipal Chronicler Cuauhtémoc Valdez, being published in the State Newspaper on 27 February 2011. border of the shield is gray, bearing at the top "1929 NOVUS IDEALIS [Latin name) 1989", the expropriation of the Magdalena Hacienda and foundation year of the municipality respectively; at the bottom "LABOR Y PROGRESO" [Labor and Progress]. Over blue, the center depicts the contour of the state, with items such as (top) apple, cheese; (east) duck that migrates through here, corn plant, cattle head; (south) open book for education, wheat, flaming torch in hand symbolizing the pursuit of freedom.
