To quote the Lithuanian Heraldry Commission at https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=442116791288888&set=pcb.442123567954877, "Three Vilnius' palms are displayed as charges. The tradition of Vilnius' palm production claims to be included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage." The symbols were designed by Rolandas Rimkūnas and approved by the president on October 28, 2022.
