Kanuma city in Tochigi adopted its flag on October 1st 1948.
proportion: 7:10
field: dark blue
emblem: white
size of emblem is 3/5 of width.
Stylized katakana Ka which stands for development.

The flag and emblem were adopted on the same date (notice no. 64). The order came into force on 10 October 1948.
The emblem is a stylized katakana ka カ, forming triangles which represent development and growth. Also, portions of the emblem can be seen to represent the three katakana of the city's name: ka, nu ヌ and ma マ.

Awano Town / 粟野町

The flag of the town of Awano was maroon with mark. The town is now, from 2006, part of the city of Kanuma.
