The flag of the municipality of Fljótsdalshérað (pop. 3500) is white with
coat of arms. The biggest town (and seat) in the municipality is Egilsstaðir
(pop. 2300).

Múlaþing Municipality was formed in 2020 from the merger of Fljótsdalshérað,
Seyðisfjörður, Borgarfjarðarhreppur and
Djúpavogshreppur.
