Punitovci is located some 20 km south-west of Osijek. Population is 1,850 inhabitantsaccording to the 2001 census, 641 living in the village of Punitovci proper.

The symbols of Punitovci are described in Article 4 of the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Punitovci (text), adopted on 7 August 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Punitovci, no. 2.
The flag is prescribed as in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms in the middle.
