The flag of Broërec, designed by Philippe Rault and approved by the
Breton Vexillological Society after
several modifications, is white with an engrailed descending red stripe, charged with a white ermine wearing a scarf ermine, and five black ermine spots in each white quarter of the flag.
The flag is based on the municipal flag of Vannes
(Gwened in Breton) and on the arms of the County of
Broërec (1481). The ten ermine spots represent the ten
subdivisions of the province:
- the six Deaneries of Carentoir (Karantoer),
Kemened-Gwegan, Kemened- Hevoù, Paoubelz, Péaule
(Pleaol), and Porc'hoed-Ereg;
- the four Territories of Belle-Île-en-Mer (Ar Gerveur), Vannes (Gwened), Rieux (Reoz), and Redon.
