Todtmoos Coat of Arms

The shield is divided and has a plain, dark green base. The main field is divided per pale into red and silver (= white). The dexter side displays a golden (= yellow), Latin Cross issuant, topped by a silver (= white) 8-point star. The sinister side displays a fir tree in natural colour.
Meaning:
Todtmoos formed a comprehensive municipality (not in the sense of Lower Saxonian municipal entities), consisting of Vordertodtmoos, Hintertodtmoos, Todtmoos-Au, -Glashütte, -Schwarzenbach and -Weg. The settlement cores were unified in 1935. The current arms were based upon a seal of the comprehensive municipality, displaying a cross and a fir tree side by side on a meadow, which was in use during the second half of the 19th century. The cross is symbolizing the pilgrimage to the local parish church. The tree is symbolizing that the municipality belonged to the County of Hauenstein, a Habsburg dominion, until 1805. The star was added in 1911 and is said having been taken from a coloured stamp.

The coat of arms was adopted in 1911.
