Übersee Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base wavy, charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, a key Gules in bend superimposing an anchor Azure bend sinister in saltire.
Meaning:
The base is symbolising the location on the eastern shores of the Chiemsee, a lake. The key is an attribute of St. Peter. It is alluding to the Arch Abbey of St. Peter in Salzburg, which owned large estates in the village and was an important manorial lord. Since the end of the Medieval however the Dukes of Bayern had been the most important manorial lords. They also became reeves of the possessions of the Archbishopric of Salzburg in the region since the middle of the 13th century. The tinctures red and silver are representing the Archbishopric of Salzburg, blue and silver the Duchy of Bayern. The anchor is an attribute of St. Nicolas, patron saint of the local parish church and the mariners.

Triband and arms were approved on 14 August 1981 by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Oberbayern. The bicolour has never been approved officially.
