Shield Vert a cogwheel Argent and in base parted by a fess wavy of the same.
Meaning:
The settlement developed after the end of WW2 and was created by parts of the municipalities of Stein upon Traun, Traunwalchen, Pierling and Palling. It is one of the rare cases, in which a flag was approved before the coat of arms came to being. The new municipality gained the status of a city in 1960. The fess wavy is a representation of the name giving Traun River, the cogwheel is symbolising industries, crafts and quick economic development.
