It is a green - white - green vertical triband with ratio 1:10:1 and the coat of arms shifted to the top.

Description of coat of arms:
The green shield is divided by a silver(=white) bendy wavy line which is flanked by two tools of the same colour, above one of tub makers/ wicker workers, below one of weavers.
Meaning:
According to source the tools are symbolizing the relevant crafts and the wavy line is symbolizing river Ems.

The coat of arms was approved by Oberpräsident of Prussian province of Westphalia on 17 August 1937. The banner was mentioned in in §3(2) of Hauptsatzung of city of Emsdetten, dated 9 December 1999.
