It is a blue-white-blue vertical triband with ratio of stripes 1:3:1. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top.

Shield Gules a bend paly-bendy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
In 1295 Ruhmannsfelden had already been a market town of the Dukes of Bayern. It was later ruled by the Cistercian Gotteszell Monastery, which was upgraded to an abbey in 1320. The inhabitants applied for proper seals in 1511 without success. According to a not mentioned source from 1726 the town used the arms of the abbey, since 1819 with official permission. The false tinctures were naturalised since 1835 according to a painting in Petra Sancta code. In fact the arms of the abbey had displayed a Cistercian bend, which means the tinctures should have been white and red. Paintings of Hans Mielich (1565) and Philipp Apian (1568) displayed in a blue shield two crossed batons of herdsmen above and a beet with green leaves below. That pattern might have been the seal, used by the inhabitants between 1512 and 1519.
