Shield Azure, a flag quartered of Gules and Argent in bend, fixed on a pole Maron with spearhead Argent.
Meaning:
In 1315 King Ludwig the Bavarian granted city rights to Königshofen. As a fiefdom of the Counts of Henneberg the city used seals displaying hen and triplemount until 1354. With a short interruption the city was acquired by the Bishopric of Würzburg. The local seals displayed the flag of Würzburg first in 1355 and continuously since the 15th century. Inbetween there existed a main seal with prints since 1398, displaying three embattled towers and the head of a bishop. The flag was used on arms since the 16th century, proven by paintings. The tinctures of the flag quarters had been however red and yellow, the same as on the arms of Würzburg City. At least until 1965 the colour of the pole had been golden (yellow). The prefix "Bad" (= spa) was added in 1974.

The arms are in use since the 14th century. The banner in Franconian colours probably has never been approved officially.
