Shield Azure two poppies proper in saltire.
Meaning:
Thingau had been seat of a low level court since 1465. It had a proper court seal since the 16th century, displaying on a shield parted per pale at dexter the colours red and blue of the Princely Abbey of Kempten and at sinister a tulip on a triplemount. According to newer literature that was a gentian. The current pattern with the poppies (Latin: Papaver rhoeas) was introduced in 1813. The flowers had been denoted as cornflowers (Latin: Centaurea cyanus) and as poppies since 1914. The basic tinctures are those of Kempten Abbey.
