Baroque shield with white cartouche, Gules an embattled tower Argent on stepped basement of the same, with cone roof Azure and rectangular window Argent fretty Sable and bordered of the same, under the window an inescutcheon lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Kirchenthumbach probably gained the rights of a market town at the beginning of the 15th century. The current pattern basically is known from town seal prints since 1459, however without shield and from the greater town seal, made around 1550. The pattern changed in details, i.e. a different position of the inescutcheon, a mount in base or a different shape of the window. The lozengy inescutcheon is referring to the Wittelsbach kin as local rulers.
