Shield Argent a fox rampant Gules.
Meaning:
In 1322 Rennersthofen gained the rights of a market town. The first seal print from 1344 displayed a fox rampant (nearly vertical) on a triangular shield. The old name of the town had been Reinhardshausen and the fox, called Reinecke in fables, was considered to be canting. The pattern remained basically the same on the following six town seals. In 1818 the town was downgraded to a rural municipality and lost its privilege of using a proper seal. The right was regained in 1836. The fox however changed to a racehorse (German: Renner) and was again considered to be canting. The predominating tinctures had been a golden animal on a blue shield. The current pattern of Klemens Stadler is based on a coloured painting from 1812, displaying a fox.

The arms were granted on 3 February 1836 by King Ludwig I of Bayern and confirmed on 22 March 1836.
