Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a castle Gules with three embattled towers topped by domes, with open port, masoned Sable and with windows Sable, in port a roe salient Sable, in base three heraldic roses Gules, barbed Vert and seeded Or, ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
The roses are taken from an inescutcheon in the arms of former Loccum municipality. The rest of the ensemble is more or less overtaken from the arms of former Rehburg city, which merged with Loccum in 2013. Loccum was known from the local Cistercian Monastery, where a settlement developed. Rehburg had been a market town already in the 15th century and gained city rights in 1648 from the Princes of Calenberg. The castle probably is representing the city's fortification in the 17th century. Furthermore it (German: Burg) together with the roe (German: Reh) is canting. The arms have actually never changed. Only a red gateway had been removed from the arms, and the wings of the port changed from Argent to Gules. of Rehburg are known since 1664 from a seal and were probably granted in 1648.
