Shield parted per fess, above Sable an 8-point star Argent, beneath plain Or.
Meaning:
Rauschenberg became a city in 1266 and prints of the oldest seal exist since 1289. As the city was a possession of the Counts of Ziegenhain, the seal displayed a knight, holding a small shield with the present arms. These are the oldest arms of the Counts of Ziegenhain. Later seals only display this shield, sometimes with the typical goat-headed eagle (see Ziegenhain) as a crest. The number of points of the star was increased to eight.
