It is a blue-white-blue vertical triband with ratio of stripes 1:6:1. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top in the white stripe.

Shield Argent, in chief a sinister facing bear passant Sable armed and tongued Gules, base parted by two bars wavy Azure.
Meaning:
The bear is the heraldic animal of the Lords of Beerwalde, who built the local Kriebstein Castle, which was first mentioned in 1384, when Dietrich of Beerwalde promised to build a castle upon the ancestral seat of his family. The bars wavy are probably referring to the Zschopau River and the moat, deviated from the river as protection of the castle. The Lordship of Kriebstein had its greatest extension between 1544 and 1550, when also the cities of Hartha and Waldheim belonged to the lordship.
