Red-yellow with the arms. Sources: Falko Schmidt, arms from Stadler 1964. The county is on the border with Switzerland opposite Aargau. I recall seeing some red lion like the one on the Lörrach county coat-of-arms in some of Pascal Gross's Swiss flags — could there be a connection?

Adopted 23 September1989, according to Dirk Schönberger's Administrative Divisions of the World website. From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:
The arms were granted on 29 January 1957, and confirmed 11 December 1973. The lion in the upper part of the arms is the lion of the Lords of Rötteln, who had their main castle in the Wiesenthal in the county. The third quarter shows the arms of Baden, as the viscounts of Baden had large possessions around Rötteln. The wavy bend sinister in the fourth quarter represents the Wiesefluss, a small river flowing through the county..
