Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or a bend Gules, at sinister Azure a plough share Or.
Meaning:
The village was first mentioned in 874. It was ruled by the Lords of Rötteln as vassals of Basel. It was acquired by the Margraves of Hachberg-Sausenberg in 1315 and by the Margraves of Baden in 1503. Some say that the village used arms displaying a steeple and an initial "W" in the 18th century. Seals from the same time displayed the Badenian bend under a prince's cornet and surrounded by a wreath. Stamps from the 19th century displayed the same pattern. The bend is alluding to the fact that the village belonged to Baden. The plough share is symbolising the importance of agriculture.
