Shield Argent a hazelnut tree Vert on a triplemount of the same.
Meaning:
In 820 the village had been a fiefdom of St. Gallen Monastery, like some others in the Breisgau. The oldest seal from 1811 already displayed a hazelnut tree with inituials "HS". So do all later seals with one exception. The draft of the current pattern of the arms was made in 1903 by the General State Archive. It appeared also in the local seal after 1930. The hazelnut tree (German: Hasel) is canting.
