Shield Azure, a knight in armour Argent killing a dragon Vert by the pole Or of his gonfanon Argent, charged with a shield paly of six of Azure and Argent, base Azure charged with a fess wavy Argent.
Meaning:
Marktbreit gained the rights of a market town as "Unternbreit" in 1557 and city rights in 1819. The knight is St. George. He and the shield on the flag are alluding to Georg Ludwig of Seinsheim, a local ruler in the 16th century. The fess wavy is a representation of the Main River.

The arms were granted on 29 October 1557 by German King Ferdinand I. The banner had never been approved officially.
