Shield parted per pale, in chief a vine branch with leaves and grapes in counterchanged colours, at dexter five plates in quincunx, at sinister a gridiron Azure.
Meaning:
In the 13th century the village had some features of a market town but not its rank. The Cistercians of Herrenalb owned the local church and the bailiwick since 1247/1251. The erected the Pfleghof, a still existing fortified estate in the village. In the 16th century the village was seat of a rural district (German: Stabsamt) and had since then proper seals. Coloured paintings of the arms existed since 1604. The branch is representing the local viticulture. The gridiron is an attribute of St. Lawrence, the local patron saint. In the version, fixed in 1930, in dexter base had been the white cowl of the Cistercians. The plates replaced the cowl. They had been the family arms of the Lords of Flehingen, local rulers in the namesake village incorporated into Oberderdingen.
