Meaning:
The coat of arms combines modified elements of the former entities of Eschershausen (lion) and Statdtoldendorf (wall). The golden colour here is realised as an orange-yellow.

Shield parted per pale, at dexter chequered of ten (2 x 5) of Or and Gules, at sinister Sable, a prehistoric man Argent, dressed by a fur Or and holding a bow Or.
Meaning:
The dexter half is taken from the arms Godewart von Campe , who rebuilt the municipality in 1483 after the destructions and sufferings during the Hussite Wars. The prehistoric man might allude to the early peopling of the area.

Eschershausen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a lion passant Or, armed and tongued Azure, in base an initial "E" Or.
Meaning:
The existence of the first town seal is proven by prints since 1550, displaying a sinister facing lion passant over an initial, all without shield. The lion had been considered to be that one of the Lords of Homburg , who granted market rights in the 14th century. More likely it is the lion of the Welfen kin , as Eschershausen became a possession of the Dukes of Braunschweig in 1409. In the 17th century the lion was displayed crowned without initial. In the 20th century the old pattern was restored.

Stadtoldendorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, issuant from base an embattled ring wall Argent masoned Sable, with a gate lodge with roof Azure, all crowned by by a building Argent with roof Azure, flanked by two embattled towers Argent and topped by a turret Argent with roof Azure with ball and crosslet Or on top. In port under a portcullis Argent an inescutcheon Gules, charged with a lion rampant Or tongued Azure and surrounded by a bordure of alternating pieces of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Stadtoldendorf was first mentioned as a city in 1284. The arms are based on a seal from the 15th century. Prints are known since 1535. In 1460 a former seal was mentioned. But there don't exist any prints of it. The inescutcheon was added in 1905, displaying the arms of the Lords of Homburg , who became extinct in 1409.
The arms were approved in 1905 by the Regent of the Duchy of Braunschweig.
