Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure an eagle's claw Or with feathers Sable, at sinister Argent, a watermill's wheel Sable, over all issuant from base a small triplemount Vert.
Meaning:
The Lords of Dürn founded the city in the late 13th century. Later it had been a possession of the Counts of Hohenlohe until 1445, afterwards of the Palatine Counts of Rhine. The first print of a seal is proven since 1499, already displaying the eagle's claw, which is of unknown origin. Since 1504 the city became a dominion of Württemberg and the arms were kept. The millwheel as a canting element and the triplemount appeared in images since the second half of the 16th century and in nearly all seals since 1645. The millwheel became a local symbol, depicted on the local vicarage and on boundary stones.
