Shield Vert, a tankard Argent with a tether of the same.
Meaning:
The tankard (German: Stotzen) is a canting element and alluding to the Knights of Stotzingen, local rulers in the 13th century. In 1366 Karl IV granted city rights and the right to have a proper court to the upper part of the village, then being a possession of the Lords of Riedheim. The other half gained city rights in 1848. Different local rulers prevented proper autonomy rights of the city since 1809. In 1848 the city was allowed to use proper seals. A coat of arms approved 1931 contradicted heraldic rules.

The banner and the current arms were approved on 12 September 1955 by the state government.
