The shield is divided per fess into golden (= yellow) over silver (= white). Above are three green fir trees ordered per fess and standing on a green, hilly basement from end to end. Below is a black, statant, guardant, cowed lion (leopard), armed and tongued red.
Meaning:
Waldenburg had been a castle of the Staufen kin. Since 1253 it was owned by the Hohenlohe kin. Since 1330 the settlement was denoted as a city. Since 1553 it became the residence of the Counts of Hohenlohe, later upgraded to Princes of Hohenlohe. The trees are a canting element, symbolizing a wood (German: Wald), while the leopard is a reduction of the arms of the rulers. In the arms of Hohenlohe are two leopards. Red and white are the colours of Hohenlohe.
