Schwäbisch Hall Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess into gold (= yellow) over red. In the centre of the golden field is a red disc superimposed by a golden (= yellow) cross patty. In the centre of the red field is a blue disc fimbriated silver (= white) superimposed by a silver (= white) hand.
Meaning:
Hall was founded by the Staufen kin and gained the title of a Free Imperial City in 1276. In 1803 the city became part of Württemberg. In the early Middle Ages Hall was one of the most important mints of the Holy Roman Empire. Here the famous "Heller" was minted. Thus hand, which is indeed a glove, and cross were the images on both sides of the coins. The pattern of the coat of arms is known from seals since about 1270, the tinctures are known since the 15th century.

The colours are in use since 1462.
