Shield Gules two keys Argent in saltire, superimposing an eradicated and stemmed fleur-de-lis Or.
Meaning:
The village gained the rights of a market town in 1471 and the first town seal was mentioned in 1547. It probably displayed the family arms of the Schertlin kin, who ruled the town since 1532. These arms were related to the town at least until 1812. The Halder family, who ruled the town later, refused the arms of a different family as symbol of the town in 1835 and in 1836 the town abstained from proper arms. The current arms were approved in nearly 100 years later and were based on the old arms of the foermer rulers, which was replaced in 1534 by a lion couchant caboshed, holding the fleur-de-lis by his sinister forepaw and the key by his dexter forepaw.
