Shield parted per bend of Or and Gules; an inescutcheon parted per pale, at dexter Or a demi-eagle Sable armed Or, tongued Gules and couped per pale, at sinister bendy of six of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
Knight Friedrich of Seckendorff gained market town rights in 1417, granted by the German King Sigismund, for his village "zum Hipoltzstain". Local seals are known since the early 17th century. The shield parted per bend displays the family arms of the Lords of Hiltpoltstein. The inescutcheon displays the lesser arms of the Free Imperial City of Nürnberg, to which the town belonged since 1503.
