Endingen Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per pale into red and blue. The dexter side is divided by a silver (= white) fess. The sinister side displays a silver (= white) wing.
Meaning:
The city was ruled by the Lords of Üsenberg, who granted the city rights in 1290. The first seal, dating from the early 14th century, shows as arms the wing of Üsenberg combined with a winegrower's knife, probably an old village symbol. In 1379, when the Üsenberg family died out, the city became a part of Austria. Nevertheless, all seals until 1720 showed only the wing of the Üsenbergs, not the Austrian arms, i.e. the silver fess in a red shield. The combination of Üsenberg and Austria, as in the present arms, did not appear until the middle of the 18th century. The arms were not changed, when the city became a part of Baden in 1806.

The coat of arms was approved on 4 January 1965 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 114/1965.
