Shield Gules, on a mount issuant Or an emperor, dressed and crowned Or holding a sceptre by his right hand and an orb by his left hand.
Meaning:
A seal which was made after 1400, with prints since 1565 displayed a sitting man with sceptre and orb. The third seal from 1500 already displayed the current pattern, also the role of Bamberg's vassals (1603). In 1692 the man is first mentioned as Emperor Heinrich II, the patron saint of the Bishopric of Bamberg. The background tincture had been blue from 1819 until 1952.

The banner was approved and the arms were confirmed in 1952. The arms are in use since the 16th century.
